La lutte contre l’ambroisie à feuilles d’armoise (Ambrosia Artemisiifolia L.), plante envahissante et hautement allergisante, a été inscrite comme un des objectifs du Plan National santé environnement 2 (PNSE 2), objectif décliné dans plusieurs plans régionaux santé environnement 2 (PRSE 2). Cette espèce, en expansion en France et en Europe, entraîne de sérieux impacts sur la santé humaine et certains milieux. Il devient nécessaire de mettre en place des mesures de gestion efficaces pour limiter ces impacts.
Afin de favoriser la coordination des actions mises en place pour prévenir les effets causés par cette plante, l'Observatoire de l'ambroisie, créé conjointement par le ministère chargé de la santé et l'Institut national de la recherche agronomique (INRA), organise, en partenariat avec les autres ministères concernés, l’International Ragweed Society, le Comité parlementaire de suivi du risque ambroisie et le RNSA, un colloque international intitulé « Ambrosia 2012 : du partage des connaissances scientifiques à la coordination européenne » les 29 et 30 mars 2012 à Lyon.

Le colloque international Ambrosia 2012 se déroulera le jeudi 29 mars (14h00-18h00) et le vendredi 30 mars (08h30-17h00), à la Manufacture des tabacs (Université Lyon 3, Jean Moulin), à Lyon.

Ambrosia 2012 permettra de dresser le bilan des progrès accomplis en matière de connaissances et de lutte contre l’ambroisie depuis la tenue du colloque européen Ambroisie2008 (21 novembre 2008, Aix-les-Bains). Il aura également pour objectif d’orienter les actions futures à mener en France et en Europe pour limiter la propagation de cette espèce exotique envahissante. Il se tiendra à la suite du colloque organisé à Lyon par l’International Ragweed Society les 28 et 29 mars 2012 : l'International Ragweed Congress (IRC). L'IRC portera plus spécifiquement sur les travaux de recherche menés sur la problématique de l’ambroisie.

Controlling common ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia L.), an invasive and highly allergenic plant, is one of the objectives of the 2nd French National Environmental Health Action Plan and several Regional Environmental Health Action Plans. This species currently expanding in France and in Europe has serious impacts on health and on environments, some effective management measures are needed to limit these impacts.
The Observatory of ragweed was created jointly by the Ministry of Health and the National Institute for Agronomic Research (INRA). In order to promote a better coordination between different structures, the Observatory of ragweed organizes a European Symposium entitled "Ambrosia 2012: from scientific knowledge sharing to Europe-wide management" on Thursday, March 29 2012 (afternoon) and Friday, March 30 (all day long), in Lyon. This symposium is organized in partnership with other French Ministries, the parliamentary committee on ragweed monitoring, the International Ragweed Society (IRS), the RNSA and other structures involved in ragweed control.

Ambrosia 2012 will report the advances made since the European symposium Ambroisie2008 (November 21 2008, Aix-les-Bains) with regard to knowledge about, and techniques of control of ragweed. It will also aim to guide future actions in France and Europe to limit the spread of this invasive alien species. The IRS will organize the International Ragweed Congress (IRC) which also will
be held in Lyon, on 28-29 March, 2012 and will focuse more specifically on the research ragweed. The International Ragweed Congress (IRC) is the pre-congress of Ambrosia 2012, for which inscriptions may be simultaneously registered with those for Ambrosia 2012.
